Description
English: Conn 6M alto saxophone in its original case. The serial number dates to 1935. This model was also known as "Naked Lady", "Lady in the Window", and "Lady Face". The model was celebrated for extraordinary longevity and durability, and featured a unique inverted octave valve. This and many other construction innovations and redundancies gave it a uniquely rich tone across its range, and contributed to the claim that it could be dropped out of a four-story window, retrieved and remain playable. This model is still sought and used by artists, and some artists and technicians alike opine that it is superior to any of today's professional models.
