Summary
Description |
English: A picture of a pack of w:toasted bread (Heudebert). At 1,01 € per pack of 250 grams of bread, of which the energetic value is 380 kcal/100 grams (thus 950 kcal total for 1,01€), this is a cheap, !high-shelf-life!, type-of-food (like too dehulled rice; which may even be slightly better, depending on regional pricing). Unlike rice however, wheat (and some other grains also commonly found in toast) is not grown in a biodiversity hotspot, and is thus better for the environment. Buying this type of food may thus (in some cases) be a good item to combat malnutrition/famines in certain places in the world. Population control however may be even better.
