Description |
English: One-loop vacuum polarization diagram. This is the one loop contribution to the photon propagator Π due to vacuum polarization in quantum electrodynamics. It contributes to a wave function renormalization for the photon, leading to a charge screening. It has a logarithmic divergence. Similar one-loop diagrams can be considered for other gauge bosons, such as W, Z and the gluons.
Français : Diagramme à une boucle de polarisation du vide, ou d'écrantage des charges en QED. Il contribue à la renormalisation de la fonction d'onde du photon. Il possède une divergence ultraviolette logarithmique.

Wikipedia for Schools was collected by SOS Children. SOS Children believes education is an important part of a child's life. That's why we ensure they receive nursery care as well as high-quality primary and secondary education. When they leave school, we support the children in our care as they progress to vocational training or higher education. Find out how you can help children in other countries.
