Description |
On June 13, 2001 MODIS acquired this true-colour image of Tropical Storm Allison over the Southeastern United States. Also pictured are a few wildfires burning in the stat of Florida. MODIS has thermal detectors uniquely designed to detect fires as hot as 500K without saturating, and it is being used by land managers throughout the U.S. to monitor and manage wildfires. |
