Locator Map of the Rocky Mountains of North America

Created by en:User:al guy on May 20, 2005 and released under the GFDL. Colours are based on the discussions at en:Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Maps. Map drawn in GIMP.

Underlying data is public domain courtesy of United States Bureau of Transportation Statistics . The actual location of the mountain range was drawn freehand based on a variety of sources and is only approximate.

This map image could be recreated using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information.
