Description | IDPs at Kiwanja camp in Rutshuru, North Kivu, DRC, March 2007 After the vice governor & minister had spoken people came out of the crowd to speak. They were angry as was the crowd at what was going on. They were angry at the attacks of the rebels and that of the government troops, furious at being chased from their homes, the looting, the raping and assassinations. I am told that the villages in Katwiguru are now completely abandoned. They were deeply disappointed that the integration of Nkundas troops into the government forces had led to more violence. They wanted a negotiated solution with the Rwandan rebels and they wanted Nkunda's troops to be removed. | |||||||
