Description
English: Hindu child with head shaven and red Swastika painted on it. Upanayana is a very popular Hindu-tradition, a Samskara or Sanskar (consecration). In Upanayana, alon with the sacred thread-tying ceremony, child's hair are partially shaved for the purpose of Shikhabandhan. This is accompanied with a celebration.
