Description
English: Bust of Gaius Caligula, emperor 37-41 AD. The emperor wears a beard as a sign of mourning for the death of his sister Drusilla in 38 AD. The smooth aspect and sensible surface of the representation are reactions against the academism of the end of the reign of Tiberius. Marble, ca. 39-40 AD, found in Thrace.

El aspecto sensible y su representación son las reacciones del academicismo de finales del reinado de Tiberio. Marble, 39-40 AC, encontrado en Tracia.
