Summary
-

English: Painter with painted statue and framed painting from a fresco in Pompeii. Now in the Museo Archeologico in Naples.
This image of a painter shows both a framed painting and a painted statue (believed to be Priapus). Since the framed painting is complete, it is unclear why it is held by the boy. It is too far away to be easily accessible and too dissimilar from the statue to be its model. The framed painting seems to be made of glass, as the background shines through. Note that a picture frame has been painted around the fresco itself.
