Additional information

The heat and frost joint employer and employee training program provides 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and 160 hours of supplemental classroom instruction each year. The classroom instruction is held one week at a time, four times throughout the year. The apprenticeship program takes five years (10,000 hours) to finish. The firestop/containment worker apprenticeship takes 8,000 hours to complete.

Applicants must have current Washington State drivers license and social security card.

Exams

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and take a basic math test set up by the committee and approved by the State of Washington. Applicants must provide certification from a medical doctor of physical ability to perform the work required. They must also have a valid driver's license and have dependable transportation.

Other admissions information

Apprenticeship applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Applicants who are currently enrolled in an apprenticeship in this field from other geographical areas are accepted as transfer students.
