Additional information

Classes are based on performance and job related skills. Major course work includes troubleshooting and repair of Commercial Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems (ACHP 105), Residential/Light Commercial Gas Heating Systems (GS 102), Residential/Light Commercial Air Conditioning Systems (RS/CS 103), and Refrigeration (Ref 201). A new course is being added on Mini-split ductless systems.

Numerous one- and two-day seminars are also offered covering mechanical and electrical codes and upgrades, EPA refrigerant handling, along with other courses of interest to the industry. All classes are taught by journey-level trades people with numerous years of practical field experience. Most classes are held weekday evenings allowing students to train for this field while maintaining current employment. Classes typically run from one to four months.

Program costs

Tuition is $2,650 for the Basic HVAC program, plus $100 registration fee and $245 for books and lab fees. Tuition is $2,895 for the residential and light commercial air conditioning program, plus a $100 registration fee. Study guide, test fees, and lab fee are included in the tuition. Individual classes range from $195 to $1,995.
