Applicants must be at least 18 years old or have guardian's approval. They must be in excellent health and pass a dive physical, possess mechanical ability, and be an experienced swimmer.

Physical health medical exam required one month before start date.
To receive a DIT diploma, the student must have a cumulative grade of 80% or higher, and have maintained satisfactory attendance, have completed depth and bottom times required for certification, and made all tuition payments as scheduled in the Enrollment Agreement.
