Additional information
The four-week, 160-hour course includes one week in the classroom and three weeks field training. New classes start every three weeks. Day and evening classes are offered. Students train on 1995 and newer freightliner conventional tractors with van, flatbed, and double trailers. At the end of the first week of training, students are tested on six written endorsements. The Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) road test is conducted onsite during the last week of training. |
Costs
Program costs
Tuition is $4,195 for the Class A CDL course, $2,995 for the Class B Bus CDL or for the Class B Truck Only CDL course, and $1,695 for the Class C Driver Training course. Additional costs include $220 registration fee, $110 for books and materials, $70 to $80 for a Department of Transportation physical, $48 for a drug screen test, $13 for a Department of Motor Vehicles abstract, $10 for a commercial driver instruction permit, $10 for DOL written exams, $250 for a skills test, and fees for a HazMat background check and a commercial driver's license. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, and able to read, write, and comprehend English. They must have a valid Washington State driver's license and social security card, provide a copy of their five-year driving abstract record, and pass a DOT physical and drug screen. They must also have proof of US Permanent Residence i.e. US Birth Certificate, US Passport, or Green Card. |
