Applicants must be able to read, speak, and understand English, and be at least 16 years old. To qualify for the private pilot certification and an instrument rating, students must be at least 17 years old and at least 18 years old for the commercial pilot certification. Prior to enrolling in a flight training course, applicants must pass a FAA Third Class Medical examination. Domestic students must also prove US citizenship or nationality through an original birth certificate and government-issued picture ID or a current US passport.
