  • WiredSafety : WiredSafety has lots of information about online safety that parents and educators can use.
  • StaySafeOnline.org : This site has resources to help you teach online safety to kids and adults, as well as general online safety articles.
  • Family Online Safety Institute : This site has a printable Family Online Safety Contract , as well as other tips and resources for parents.

Who to contact if your child is in danger

  • Local police : If your child is in immediate danger, you should call 911 . Otherwise, you can call your local police's non-emergency number to report a problem.
  • CyberTipline : Visit www.cybertipline.com or call (800) 843-5678 to report crimes against children, including online enticement of children for sexual acts, obscene material sent to a child, and child pornography.

  • Stopcyberbullying.org : Created by the people at WiredSafety.org, this site has information geared toward children ages 7 to 17.
  • Cyberbully411.org : This site has resources for kids and teens, including strategies for talking to parents about cyberbullying.
  • Common Sense Media : This site offers detailed advice for working with kids ages 2 to 17.
  • KidsHealth : This site has an article that gives a good overview of cyberbullying.
  • It Gets Better Project : This site was created in response to the suicides of teens who were bullied for being gay. It contains more than 22,000 videos, including many submitted by celebrities.
